NXP Semiconductors was founded in 2006, formerly known as the Semiconductor Division of Philips in 1953, headquartered in Eindhoven, Netherlands. NXP was listed on NASDAQ in the United States in 2010. In 2015, NXP acquired Freescale Semiconductor, founded by Motorola, becoming one of the top ten non storage semiconductor companies in the world and the world's largest automotive semiconductor supplier (Strategy Analytics). We have offices in 30 countries and regions worldwide, with a total of over 30000 employees. In 2021, our global revenue was $11.063 billion. In 2019, NXP announced the acquisition of Marvel's WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity business assets for $1.76 billion.

NXP's predecessor, Philips Semiconductor Division, established an office in China in 1986. In 2014, NXP and Datang Telecom Technology Co., Ltd. jointly established Datang NXP Semiconductor Co., Ltd. 2017； NXP sold its voice and audio application solutions business to China's Goodix Technology for $165 million. In 2019, the signing ceremony of the "Investment Cooperation Agreement for Artificial Intelligence Application Demonstration Base Project" between the Tianjin Development Zone Management Committee and NXP Semiconductors was held at the Tianjin Development Zone Investment Service Center on the 26th, marking the settlement of NXP's artificial intelligence and Internet of Things demonstration project in Tianjin Development Zone.
