ST Semiconductor Group

STMicroelectronics (ST) was founded in 1987 as a new enterprise formed by the merger of SGS Semiconductor from Italy and Thomson Semiconductor from France. Since its establishment, ST's growth rate has exceeded the overall growth rate of the semiconductor industry. Since 1999, ST has consistently been one of the top ten semiconductor companies in the world. The entire group has nearly 50000 employees, 16 advanced research and development institutions, 39 design and application centers, 15 major manufacturing plants, and 78 sales offices in 36 countries.

STMicroelectronics is one of the manufacturers with the widest semiconductor product line in the industry, ranging from discrete diodes and transistors to complex System on Chip (SoC) devices, and to complete platform solutions including reference designs, application software, manufacturing tools, and specifications. Its main product types include over 3000. STMicroelectronics is a major supplier in various industrial fields, possessing a variety of advanced technologies, intellectual property (IP) resources, and world-class manufacturing processes. Semiconductor products can generally be divided into two categories: specialized products and standard products. Specialized products integrate a large number of proprietary IPs from semiconductor manufacturers, users, and third parties, which sets them apart from other products in the market.
