Battery management

ADI offers a wide range of high-performance battery management IC product lines, including battery chargers, matching battery charging controllers, and backup battery managers. The battery charger is suitable for both wireless and wired applications and can be used for any rechargeable chemical battery. The accompanying battery charger controller can be used in conjunction with almost any internally compensated switching regulator to form a complete battery charging solution. The backup battery manager supports battery charging and outputs backup power from the battery to the system in case of power interruption or failure.

 

Current source

Analog Devices' dedicated constant current source product library provides ease of use and design; Voltage, current, and thermal protection functions; And built-in current limitation. A constant current source can be designed using multiple standard analog components, including operational amplifiers, LED drivers, and battery chargers.

 

Energy harvesting

Analog Devices offers a variety of ultra-low power ICs for energy harvesting applications. A power management product used to efficiently convert energy from vibration energy (piezoelectric), photovoltaic energy (solar energy), and thermal energy (TEC, TEG, thermopile, thermocouple) to a regulated voltage, or to charge battery and supercapacitor storage components. Boost converters that can operate at voltages as low as 20 mV or battery chargers with maximum power point capability have expanded the possibilities for industrial automation and control, wireless sensors, transportation, automotive, and building management applications.

 

Non inductive (charge pump) DC/DC converter

ADI's charge pump series offers the widest range of simple and compact non inductive DC/DC converter designs. These converters can be used to boost, buck, or invert input voltages. Due to the lack of inductance, these switched capacitor converters can simplify the design and have a small solution size. In addition, the on-chip integrated spread spectrum technology significantly reduces input and output noise.

 

isoPower

ADI's isoPower ® The technology adopts proprietary iCoupler ® Chip level transformers can integrate isolated DC-DC conversion and data isolation in a single package. Therefore, designers can overcome the cost, size, power consumption, performance, and reliability limitations of optocouplers and achieve isolation in the design. Currently, over 1 billion isolation channels have been put into use. These magnetic isolation products are safe, reliable, and easy to use, making them an ideal alternative to optocouplers.

 

LDO linear regulator

ADI manufactures a variety of high-performance low dropout (LDO) linear regulators. LED driver IC

Analog Devices has a wide range of LED driver IC products, suitable for automotive, display backlighting, handheld, and general lighting applications. They can be configured as inductor free white LED drivers (for parallel LEDs) or switch regulator based white LED drivers (for series LEDs). Topology includes boost regulator LED drivers, buck regulator LED drivers, buck boost LED drivers, SEPIC topology LED drivers, and so on.

 

PMIC and multifunctional

Many of Analog Devices' battery management products combine our standalone battery charger functionality with one or more other features. Our Power Management IC (PMIC) product combination includes battery charging, power path (PowerPath) ™)  Control, as well as one or more DC-DC regulators, aimed at achieving a complete power solution for handheld products. Our PowerPath product and architecture allow power to be supplied to the load from VIN and battery, ensuring shorter charging times and providing greater flexibility for portable device design.

 

Intelligent power stage (FET and FET driver)

ADI's expanding Silent MOS ™ The intelligent power level product series provides excellent integrated solutions that optimize power efficiency, transient performance, and reduce EMI/EMC. The fully integrated high-speed gate driver, when used in conjunction with a low resistance half bridge power switch, can provide accurate switch current and thermal monitoring telemetry functions, further enhancing performance. Supercapacitor charger

Analog Devices offers a line of linear, switched, and switched capacitor IC products designed specifically for charging supercapacitors. These devices have input or output current limiting, automatic battery balancing, and numerous protection functions, making them unique products suitable for supercapacitor charging. Due to its numerous advantages over batteries, such as lower equivalent series resistance (ESR) and enhanced durability in the face of repeated charging, supercapacitors have become an increasingly important alternative in applications where power supply is more important than total energy storage.

 

Switching voltage regulator

ADI offers a variety of boost, buck, and buck switching regulators. These voltage regulators are capable of generating fixed or adjustable output voltages and can provide up to 2 A of output current. In addition, it has features such as a low battery level detector, user adjustable current limiting, various switching frequencies, and fewer external components.
